Dijon is probably the smallest artist I’ve gone over so far, with not even 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify and 24k Instagram followers. I first found Dijon when I listened to “JOHNNY” by BROCKHAMPTON, who I’ll cover in a later post. They referenced him in the song and me being the biggest stan at the time had to know who he was. He was also credited as a writer on the BROCKHAMPTON song "1998 TRUMAN." Dijon truly makes the most beautiful music my ears have ever heard. His discography isn’t terribly long, but it means that every single song he has released is amazing. He sings with such passion and emotion. My favorite Dijon song is “Skin” which was actually the first of his songs that I ever listened to. It’s his most listened to song both on Spotify and Apple music by at least triple all his other songs. Honestly, it’s an injustice because like I said all his songs are beautiful and deserve to be heard by everyone. Everyone.
Dijon began his career alongside musician Abhi Raju, making up R&B duo Abhi//Dijon. They were able to release one album and several small projects, but they haven’t released any music since 2016. I assume they have officially parted ways, but neither of them are very active on social media, so it’s hard to tell. They still uploaded some of Dijon’s singles on their joint SoundCloud last year. The duo’s music is also beautiful and very similar to Dijon’s solo music. My favorite from Abhi//Dijon is “Distant Love” a song in which Dijon sings the vocals. That actually seems to be the case in most of their songs, so Dijon must be the vocalist and Abhi on the production side.
I think the fact that Dijon is not very active on social media is a reason he hasn’t been getting the attention he deserves. He creates quality music and music videos, but without the right marketing of his music, it’s hard to reach a large audience. It’s especially hard because his record label Dark Green, Dark Green is really hard to find. It is credited in Dijon’s most recent music, but I still haven’t been able to locate any kind of social media for them. It’s unfortunate that there’s such a focus on the image you portray on the internet, but it’s just the reality now. I appreciate Dijon’s music so so much. I am truly such a fan, but I don’t feel as much of a fan of his as I do other artists simply due to his lack of internet presence. Perhaps his distance from social media is on purpose, though. He might want his audience to listen to his music because they honestly like it and not because he presents himself a certain way online.
Dijon still has a lot of time to grow since he’s relatively new to the solo music world, all things considered. His only problem right now is just reaching the right audience. He already makes great music, so if one day one of his songs gets super popular, he doesn’t have to worry about being a one-hit-wonder.

I love love love new music and I like that you're talking about artists that don't have a huge social presence because their amazing music so often gets overlooked. I’m totally going to listen to “Skin” as soon as I get a chance and I’m happy to have a new artist to listen to. I feel like I am constantly on the search for new music and I’m glad that you cover artist that aren’t too popular but do have a good sound.
